Why this role exists.Stilla has a product that customers love and a fast-growing base of teams adopting it. As we scale, we need someone to build the financial and operational backbone — the systems, contracts, and compliance — that lets the rest of the team move fast without friction.
What you’ll own.From accounting and billing systems to sales contracting and compliance, you own the operational machinery that keeps a growing company running cleanly. You’ll design a finance function built with AI for an AI-native company, something other companies will benchmark against.
Responsibilities
- Financial systems. Own and scale our financial infrastructure: accounting, billing, and the tooling around them. Make sure the systems we choose hold up as we grow.
- Sales support.Partner with sales in procurement processes, e.g. on agreements and contracts: editing, redlining, and turning around documents quickly so deals don’t stall.
- Compliance oversight. Own compliance across the company. Work directly with engineering on the technical requirements (security, data, certifications) and handle the rest yourself.
- Operations. Keep day-to-day operations smooth: vendors, processes, and the critical behind-the-scenes work that makes everything else possible.
- Strategic finance. Build the financial models that guide the business: burn, runway, and unit economics. Partner with leadership on pricing and monetization, and turn the numbers into decisions that shape how we grow. Over time, build the function.
- AI-powered workflows. Use AI tools daily to automate as much of the above as possible.
You’ll thrive in this role if below resonates
- 5+ years in finance, operations, or a similar role in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Hands-on with financial systems (accounting and billing) and comfortable owning them end to end
- Comfortable reading and editing contracts, and working closely with sales to keep deals moving
- Understand compliance well enough to own it, and technical enough to partner with engineering on the hard parts
- First-principles thinker who rolls up their sleeves. You don’t wait for playbooks, you write them
- Exceptional communicator, written and verbal
- Obsessed with AI and how it’s reshaping how teams work. Rather than scaling finance and operations with headcount, you think about how to scale them with AI
